Do you need a black carrying bag for work and travel that also allows you to carry both your netbook, accessories, and work papers, notebooks, etc? Instead of buying a tacky vinyl or polyester bag that looks like a laptop case, this messenger bag by Kenneth Cole could really boost your looks and provide a touch of elegance to your character. Since this bag is made of black leather, it simply goes with everything, making it a very affordable investment.

The problem is that the truly elegant, black leather messenger bags are in the $150-$250 range and sometimes you just don’t want to spend that much. This Kenneth Cole case would be a great compromise. It has a classy, simple style accented by the brushed silver buckle. It is perfect for carrying an iPad or a 10″ netbook, which you can easily keep within a separate sleeve in this messenger bag. There is still plenty of room (probably another 4-5 inches in width) for papers, notebooks, a portfolio, or whatever. That being said, this bag is probably not suitable for a student who needs to carry three thick hardcover textbooks and notebooks – a backpack or bigger bag would be needed.

For everyday purposes though, this is perfect. There are lots of handy extras, too: a zip pocket on the outside (under the flap), a zip pocket inside the bag, and a pouch on the back (outside) of the bag. The black bag also has pen holders and other helpful features inside. The magnets fitted in the fabric helps the flap stay put even in windy days, so you don’t have to close the buckle.

For the sake of looks, this bag doesn’t have a handle. It would simply not fit as nicely into the look of the bag. If this is a deal-breaker, Kenneth Cole has lots of other amazing bags to check out. All Kenneth Cole bags are fitted with nice fabric on the inside which stays clean and looks really smart.

Overall, for the $75-$90 price point, this is one of the best black leather messenger bags you can find. I have several myself.
